About MSSF

Amideast's MENA Scholarship Support Fund enables highly qualified students from underserved communities in the Middle East and North Africa to pursue undergraduate study in the United States. Amideast identifies exceptional students who demonstrate promise but lack the financial means to attend an American college or university.

For students admitted to U.S. colleges and universities with generous financial aid packages, MSSF closes the gap in the cost of attendance so star students can accept offers they otherwise couldn't afford.

What MSSF supports

  • Closing the gap between a generous financial aid package and the full cost of attendance
  • Books and supplies
  • Health insurance and travel expenses
  • Pocket money for day-to-day incidental costs

Program history

Amideast established the fund in 2006 as the Diana Kamal Scholarship Search Fund (DKSSF), in memory of our late Senior Vice President Diana Lufkin Kamal and her dedication to international educational exchange. As the program expanded to include direct financial support, it was renamed the MENA Scholarship Support Fund in 2023.
