CLEP®

Take a test

CLEP®

CLEP exams let students demonstrate college-level knowledge. Credit policies vary by university; passing does not guarantee credit everywhere.

What is CLEP?

The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP), developed by the College Board, offers 34 exams covering introductory college material in business, composition, mathematics, science and the humanities. A passing score can earn three or more credits at more than 3,000 U.S. colleges and universities.

Why take CLEP?

Save money

Exams cost less than $100, plus the test center fee.

Graduate sooner

Students who pass often finish their degrees months earlier.

Use what you know

Turn self-study, work or prior learning into college credit.

Instant results

For most exams, you see your score as soon as you finish.
